FIGURE DRAWING DUMMMPPPP!!!! I was told quite recently by my figure drawing teacher that my gesture drawings resemble Ryan Woodward's a bit. Kinda cool to hear... I noticed one of my classmates and dear friend of mine tried copying my technique a bit after the teacher commented that to me. He stopped drawing to watch me do a few then tried to copy it. It looked pretty good.... Point of that story - I don't know WHAT I'm doing, but apparently it works! Go fig.

NOW, if only those flowy lines worked for me better in tighter works. >__O
Quickie of some stuff around my table. The black stain on the apple was a rotten-ish part of the apple. I grabbed it because I noticed the rotting part and thought it looked interesting. The mini pumpkin was from a little even that was going on. They wanted people to pain their pumpkins, but I didn't want to do that... so I just grabbed one and booked it. >___> I neglected to make the shadows a bit cooler, but I guess it's late and was fooled by my eyes because of my warm yellow light. @__@ Gaahh...

SO SATURATTTEEDDD! @___@ all of these drawings were done on my laptop which for some reason has a not-so-wonderful saturation level. Like, everything is so desaturated on my laptop so whenever I see the stuff I do on my desktop I'm all "WHOAH! OAO That is BRIGHT!!!!" .  The guy with the hearts scarf in the second picture looked much paler on my laptop, and the girl with the green hair did not have a skin tone as reddish as that. A great example of what the difference between a good monitor and a bad one.

The top two is some recent stuff, the bottom is something old.

The top are some studies I did yesterday. I was doing studies for a while so I did the bust doodles you see below that. The study was I basically grab a random texture and try to make it into a blob, ball-ish form. I did a crab and chick again. XD They're much better than the first time I did them, I think, so I am quite pleased... and no eyedropper tool since I need to can my reliance on it. D < Grrr.... The texture in the middle is a blobfish and I added some slime on it for effect. Teehee. Lower on the page is an unfinished apple study.

The third one on the bottom is an old doodle I did a while ago. Her name is Allena and she's a MTF trans woman. I drew her in a bunny suit because I wanted to draw her looking all sexy because she's super skittish. =3=

Some doodles I did after doing studies more or less for hours on end. XD The top is me wanting to make blobby shapes since I was just playing around with some brushes. The top left corner is a toy car I doodled in.

The bottom is a drawing of Daniel. I tried looking into alternative designs for his microphone thing. I tried a more old-school walkie-talkie kind of direction, but I've now decided I still like that vintage microphone sort of design. I'll play with that some more another time, maybe I'll combine it? P :Heehee. We'll see.

Daniel is supposed to be materializing from the ground while mouthing words into his unconnected microphone like he usually does. XD I wanted to make it look like something scary if he just appeared in front of you even though he seems like a mute lunatic who's talking into an old microphone/walkie-talkie thing that's not connected to anything. Yeah... I have a butts sense of humor. :B

I'll post a few more studies at another date~

Also, I have an idea for a sketch next time. I was thinking about a squeeze-tube puppy thing... you'll see, if I get to it.~>__>

The top is a doodle I did when the internet in my house went out. No reference = WHAT IS EERYTHINGGG???!!!??? It turned out reaaally bad. @__@ But I got enough of an impression for what I would look up it I ever want to polish up this idea, so... that's SOMETHING accomplished. P:

Venture Bros. sketch because I love that show. Like fffff.... I even bought the whole DVD set for my b-day. Hahaha... I wish season 6 could come sooner, though. @A@ But as most things... not use in rushing good things, right?

I might as well have my little writings on this blog, too. P: A lot of my writing drablettes are sort of contentless, I'd guess you'd say. Random things with no given circumstance attached to why the idea was said or done.

"One tomato is a tomato until I cut it. Then it will be tomatoes, plural. So, if I called one tomato a tomatoes, wouldn't I technically be correct?"

"I am sorry that I do not even have the courtesy to be rightly aggressive with you"

"When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be"

For some reason, I really like this one:
A: "You seem like the kind of person who would be amazing to fall in love with for a few days."
B: "Only a few days? What will you do after those few days are over?"
A: "Move on. It's the only thing to do since you seem like the type who would reject their lovers quickly."
B: "A good point."
I just sort of imagine two people strangers in a lobby waiting for something or on a bus just chatting it up with another. One person will just strike up that weird thought and the other person isn't angry at the person for saying it, but just curious as to why the person thinks like that. Iono... my funny sense of humor. :B

Doodle dump of my random doodles from the past three weeks, I'd think it is? Lots of going over old character and costume designs. I was just really into doing some research for costume designs a few weeks back.

Quick storyboard stuff I did for class. The assignment was to have a character dive off a diving board and portray that one moment in three ways: a character driven way, a plot driven way, and combo of the two. The first is character driven, second is plot driven, third is the combo driven shot. The teacher told us to make a quick given circumstance to tell the class before showing the board ideas. I think the story is generally self-explanatory - man is chased by a pursuer and must choose between a leap of crazy faith or going up against the pursuer.

I couldn't quite say I have a favorite of the three, but I know that I spent the least time on the combo one, even the thumbnailing for that one just came out easily and I ended up going with one of the first thumbnail ideas for it. I think I had the most fun doing the first one since I enjoy just drawing faces. : D At the same time, I feel as if I learned the most from the 2nd one. Watching some ninja turtles gave me an idea to add a walkway thing there - I thought it cut up the frame better to do it that way. And for some reason, I had the hardest time plotting the other spouts until it dawned upon me that I was drawing the perspective lines wrong due to my late-night derpness- HUUURRRP. @___@

I used my character Ark for the board even though I originally planned it to be a random character made up on the spot. I'm usually a bit... I don't know how to describe it - wary of showing characters I spend a long time on to anyone, I suppose? It's a strange sort of shyness, but I thought I just wanted to draw him in a moment like that - conflicted between making a dangerous jump or getting killed by a pursuer of some sort. I think it was a better idea because I felt like I was able to make a story much easier, quicker, and feel more for it.

I sorta cheated (sorta) and did a "diving board" of sorts... just not the swimming pool kind. >__> I was watching a gameplay for The Amazing Spider Man game (with SAM RIIEGALL AS PETER PARKER!!!!) and at 5:48-ish of the video it suddenly hit me to have a character having to prepare to jump off a sewer... whatever that location is called.... The teacher was more than fine with my cheat, so everything ended all well~

Personal afterthought:

I dunno if I could have done more to an extent, I guess? The teacher had nothing more to say on it - she just nodded and said "good job", and I think someone in the class said "whoah". I'll take it as a good sign. Best check it out more later, though. O__O; Upon my further notice, I felt like I should have upped the contrast in the pictures to up the focus better. =___= Next time, I guess... next time...
